Jim Stenberg is a registered Master Builder with close to 20 years industry experience. Jim obtained his carpentry qualification in New Zealand, soon after he left to live and work in Northern NSW. Upon returning to Christchurch he worked as head builder for local developer James Hickey. Jim then moved on to work as head foreman for prominent award-winning builder DJ Hewitt for 4 years with his final project being the construction of Darryl Hewitt’s own home for which he was awarded the NZ Master Builder’s own home award. Jim Stenberg started his own company ‘Jim the Builder Ltd’ in early 2005 and to date has completed a number of impressive architectural homes. True to the high-standard of Jim (and his team's) workmanship, Jim the Builder Ltd won a Gold award in 2007. They were recently presented with five awards at the Canterbury Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards 2008, including the prestigious PlaceMakers Supreme Award.
